Heather’s address was on the story of Ruth and her love for her mother-in-law, Naomi and her God and especially on the choice Ruth made (Ruth 1 v16)
“Don’t urge me to leave you or to turn back from you. Where you go, I will go. Where you stay, I will stay. Your people will be my people and your God, my God.”
Heather talked about the choice we need to make in becoming a Christian. A decision we make for a Saviour, whose love has won us over to Himself. A Saviour who died, gave His all, that we might be forgiven. That choice changes our future and the future of our family as we put our hand into the hand of God, trusting Him completely for everything.
Ruth’s story also shows us that God had a wonderful plan for these two women who thought their lives were over. No matter how difficult and challenging our circumstances it’s important we don’t doubt that God is with us and has a plan.
Heather quoted a song written by a friend:
“God is too wise to be mistaken. God is too good to be unkind. And when we don’t understand, when you can’t see His plan, when you can’t trace His hand, Trust His heart.”
