At one of our art exhibitions a man commented, 'I watched your church being built and often wondered what it was like inside.' He went on to say, 'Do you know what, there is something warm and friendly about this place.' Church is much more than a building it is all about people feeling part of a community. At CMC our motto is to love God and serve others. This is not always easy to live up to, and sometimes we might fail, but it is our heartfelt desire. Jesus loves people. When He walked in Israel 2000 years ago people loved to be with Him. He welcomed all ages and all classes. In particular he reached out to those whom society rejected. He healed the sick in body and he sought to bring forgiveness to all people. When he died on the cross he did it for all of us. As a church we want to echo the ministry of Jesus by being welcoming and loving. It is our priority as a church to help people come into a relationship with Jesus Christ and to grow in the knowledge and love of Him. We believe that Jesus is the key to a life that makes sense and is worth living. In a society where so many people are lonely and feel disconnected from their community we want to offer friendship and support. We seek to offer worship and activities that connect us to God and to other people. One mother said to me, 'Since coming along to Parents and Toddlers I have made new friends and my faith in God has been renewed.' So you are welcome. This site will give you a snapshot of our church life but to find out more please come along, or contact us. We would love to see you. Philip Agnew |
