The origins of
Carnalea Methodist go back to the 1930’s and since then we have
been in 4 different locations. The original fellowship met in the
home of the local stationmaster at Carnalea. A small church was
then built on the corner of Killaire Park which served until the
population expansion in the area in the late 60’s and early 70’s.
Our congregation comprises about 400
families. We have a very good association with St Gall's Church of
Ireland, which we plan to maintain. As a result we are able to
offer a full range of Youth Activities—Scouts, Guides, Boys’ and
Girls’ Brigades.
During morning worship, there are
activities for all ages from 0 to 15.
The staff of the congregation
includes the minister, Philip Agnew, and a part time Lay Pastor, Terry Allen. Terry is a full time Lay Pastor
who also spreads his time over 3 other churches on the Bangor
and Holywood Circuit — Ballyholme, Primacy and Queen’s Parade.
Our congregation has a reputation
for being very friendly and if you wish to join us in any of the
activities listed you will be most welcome. We look forward to
seeing you.
